One On The Way

It was only five months ago my wife called me on the phone while I was taking the dog for a walk to give me the good news… we’re pregnant!  What glorious news!

Now with only 4 months left, we’re starting to look through baby magazines, planning the baby room, etc.  A quick walk around Babys-R-Us and Target have shown many, many items we need!  Thank goodness for the upcoming baby shower!

While walking around a store the question about baby monitors came up.  Up until recent years a simple baby monitor with LED lights that easily indicate activity on the other side was a critical tool.  This is still the case however there are more options available now to the general public, and at super affordable prices.

To my surprise, a very decent wireless baby-cam can be purchased for $100-$150, complete with infrared technology so you can see in the dark!  How great is that?  Not only can you monitor for sounds (when the baby wakes up) but you can also put a live camera feed on your TV or on a monitor!

Is it paranoia?  Over protection?  Sure,  we’ve gotten away with not using cameras on our children for thousands of years.. but why not?  It doesn’t hurt them and it’s very affordable, so we’re heavily considering it for ourselves.

Sitting downstairs, relaxing and watching a movie, with a small window in the corner of the TV displaying a PiP (picture-in-picture) of our little bundle of joy sleeping peacefully.  Consider it an insurance policy in case anything happens.. you’ll quickly see what’s going on and be able to react before anything serious happens.
